Everybody,thank you again.

haha are you planning every half hour of the trip? pedrera-pl.cat is 15-20 minutes, but you will stop and stare at lots of gaudi things on the way, maybe want to shop or take pictures etc. then plaza catalunya down las ramblas to the seafront is 10 minutes brisk walk. but why would you want to power-walk down two of the most scenic and interesting avenues there are?
I am guessing or hoping that you will slow the pace when you see it. please take an hour for each and wander.

Travel buzzing,
Thank you. I am planning, but not every half hour.:) I am simply trying to decide if we should stay at Hostal Goya after we come back from Seville, or if we should stay at Gallery Hotel by La Padrera (hence, I want to know how far it is more or less - as looking on the map was not helpful.)
Is the location of the Gallery Hotel (right by M: Diagonal) a bit too far away? Please, advise.
Thanks,
Agnes

Travel buzzing?

I think I have already responded to another post (was it yours?) about the area near the Diagonal metro. I personally liked it the best of all the neighborhoods I saw in Barcelona, but maybe that's just because it was where we stayed.

I don't know if I'd think it's too far away from the sights you want to see, but there were lots of things nearby and public transportation is available and taxis are plentiful and relatively inexpensive.

look both of them are more than a stroll from the city centre.
ive said before id like the diagonal because you can take little walks into gracia, which is v.v. pretty. nice food places, nice buildings, quaint.
you will more than likely end up taking the metro from both of these anyway so i would go with the gracia-side hostel at Metro diagonal. it will also be cheaper to eat out in this neighbourhood than by the pedrera.
don't get me wrong, you CAN walk, but considering the amount of sightseeing you'll be doing in gotico, borne etc., i don't think you'll walk each time to and from your hotel. now if you had've looked for somewhere in borne or gotico... but thats an old can of worms.

OK. Thanks. I am not going to "torture" all the kind people anymore. I think I made up my mind - having a bit of variety is not a bad thing. THANK YOU.
