Austria - Here we come!
Hi All
Friday (19th)is the day. Leave DFW for 8 days in Austria. Actually its DFW to Zurich, Lucerne, Bregenz, Garmisch, Salzburg, and Vienna. Total time 8 days. All travel by train, but no Eurail Pass. Salzburg and Vienna = hotel reservations - but other than those, no hotels either. We are hoping for snow, Xmas markets, mountains, cable cars, and incredible scenery. Four of us going. Any last minute Advice -- please don't hesitate. I may never return. Shrink |
Yes, I have some advice without hesitation. If you are going to Austria and never returning please bring Arnold with you. Please, please, please. Tell him you know of a great place to pump iron with chicks or something!

Aw Cmon -- We like Arnold. Heck - we are even considering an Arnold amendment to our constitution.

Enjoy your trip, Shrink. We'll be anxious to hear about it when you return.

Shrink.....Sounds like you might not have any "spare" time. But on several trips to Salzburg I have been able to enjoy a day trip to Bad Gastein,at the apex of the Gastein Valley.A thermal wonderland as well as an international ski destination.Your post made me think of it and the great times I have had there.Bon Voyage, Buen Viaje!

You may not be thee long enough to go to any christmas markets. I think that they will start a day or two after you leave. But when you are Salzburg, make sure you try bosna, it is a special sausage sandwich to the area. You can get them on the main street at a couple of little fast food boths. Try to get to the Austiner Brauhaus, a great local beer hall, worth a visit.
Have a good time. |
