I saw a lot of them being sold in Turkey, and I was surprised that some of the people in my group seemed interested in buying them, or maybe they did buy them. I hadn't noticed them in the stores at home, but maybe I just don't pay enough attention to these trends.

I would only wear the capelet as an alternative to a evening wrap when wearing a strappy little black dress. It's better than wearing a coat which sometimes doesn't look right with dressy attire. But that's just me.

seetheworld...good luck to your son - is he running the NY marathon?

seetheworld Oct 30th, 2004 03:40 PM

Indie, yes he is! It's his first time running a marathon and we are all very excited. He's been running for eight years and has been diligently training. We all hope the weather is dry - we talked about the garbage bag today :) He said he didn't see how he could actually run in it but would wear one if it rained while waiting for the race to begin. Have you participated in a marathon?

Here in Boston, the runners at the end will be cold and shivering at times. they use Tin foil "capes" to warm themselves

Chigalechanta, it's my sons ultimate goal to be able to wear one of those foil "capes" but the Boston marathon lottery is a tough one.
