Well I can do up to 3 weeks nicely in a 22" (even though our favorite overpacker above can't imagine this).

For Mari4~ I'm not sure why you're having trouble finding them. Mine was on sale for $50 at a JC Pennys store a a few years back. Oh, since I haven't luggage shopped recently maybe that's it - because of the new stricter carryon limits that manufacturers have taken the 22" down to a 20" as a standard size?

M-Kingdom, we were our clothes one day, and the next day turn it inside out, this way we can pack only 1/2 of what we need (sarcasm)

m_kingdom2 Jul 16th, 2004 01:02 PM

Turning your sarcasm into fact - even if I was to cut down by half by turning clothes inside out I still couldn't manage. Besides, I hate labels showing.

Oh I don't even bother reversing my clothes - although that is a brilliant idea. I just wear it over & over & over again. Works out beautifully!

Let's see, for my 7 days in London I had the largest 33" suitcase, with some 10 pairs of various footwear (no sneakers) AND a packed-to-the-gills garment bag-the suitcase weighed around 63 pounds before I left, and 70 when I came back-I felt I had enough with me with that.

LOL, what fun to read this after spending the day in cream colored silk cropped pants and a black top..black shoes and bag to round out the ensemble :D

Hmmm~ Did anyone whisper something about licorice??

m_kingdom2 Jul 16th, 2004 01:36 PM

I thought I shouted it out, obviously not loud enough.

Scarlett Jul 16th, 2004 01:39 PM

Oh it was you! Well, that is ok, since your advice is obviously based on something that my grandmother might say, if she were a shop girl...in the 50's .

Saw I ROBOT today- not one bit of color in the whole movie-Everyone word grey and black or just black.
They looked good LOL (says the NYCgirl in me)

nocinonut Jul 16th, 2004 02:14 PM

In the summer I would wear black and white and in winter I would wear black and winter white.

Why not black and ecru?

Amy Jul 16th, 2004 02:18 PM

Would beige and ebony be acceptable?

(If not, please don't tell Gucci...)

canuckuphereathome Jul 16th, 2004 03:21 PM

or ebony and ivory.....

Spygirl Jul 16th, 2004 03:23 PM

Now it's time to sing that song....

nocinonut Jul 16th, 2004 03:25 PM

Stevie wouldn't mind if you wore ebony and ivory.

bashful Jul 16th, 2004 03:26 PM

doesn't winter white =

cream?!

capo Jul 16th, 2004 03:36 PM

That depends. Witch broomsticks skirts are you talking about?

Margie Jul 16th, 2004 03:36 PM

Bashful, J.Jill (catalog or on-line) has a great black skirt that won't be a mess when you take it out o fyour suitcase, it's lightweight, and they offer tall sizes.

nocinonut Jul 16th, 2004 03:37 PM

Yep, so wear it...or.....cream, sand, ecru, beige or Navajo White with black!

But....not with white shoes!!!

Scarlett Jul 16th, 2004 05:28 PM

Whatever you wear, be sure you let someone else pack it for you!
