wanted to check with everyone before i book and this time i got the contract in full. =D i'm learning!

I'd say that Paris hotel is too far out (just by looking at that address, I can tell it's in the 18th arrondisement).

I like to stay *central*. Here's a tip I learned on this forum ages ago. See the postal code? The last two digits is the number of the "arrondisement" or neighborhood. The numbers go in a spiral, like a snail, outward from the center of Paris. So personally I'd be looking only in the 1st, 4th, 5th, 6th, or maybe the 7th. Anything else you'll be tied to using public transportation everytime you want to go sight-seeing. Where somewhere like the 5th (Latin Quarter) there are many things you can easily see on foot... Notre Dame, Luxembourg Gardens, Louvre, Seine river, etc.

I agree - 1, 4, 5, 6, maybe 7.

If you pick just one or two arrondisements in and only look at hotels or apartments in those areas, it REALLY simplfies things... rather than trying to search out a place in ALL of greater Paris!!!

I really liked the little studio in the 11th arr I recommended above as well as I thought it was great value for money but you might be better off in an hotel as suggested by Suze.

rue Lepic is a nice market street up in Montmartre. It's fine if you want to be up in that area.

I really understand your desire for an apartment. I travelled with 3 girlfriends in 2007 and it was wonderful to be able to have breakfast each day before we left and we also packed a lunch each day. I can remember sitting on a bench in the grounds of the Tower of London eating our picnic lunch - you know just a sandwich, piece of fruit and maybe a piece of fruit cake etc - thinking how very, very decadent it all felt.

We always had a lovely dinner out each night but the money we saved on accommodation and meals gave us more money for extras such as Michael Osman our private guide in Paris and West End shows, a posh afternoon tea etc.

I rented apartments from www.beau-paris.com for less than 100 euros per night. I stayed at apartment Rue Beuret and Blv Grenelle.
