Any fodorites fluent in Turkish?

My fiancé and I are going to Turkey for our honeymoon and I'd like to engrave her ring with a saying in Turkish. Is there anyone who could translate the following saying please! I appreciate it very much;

"Until my forever ends lil mama"

Or just

"Until my forever ends"

I have looked at online translators but want to make sure it's grammatically correct! :)

How is "until my forever ends lil mama" correct? Or is "lil mama" already in turkish? You need a translator. They are all over the internet. I could do it for you, but can't advertise here on Fodors.

It's correct because that is my saying.... It's obviously not translated in Turkish. I've been to many sites. Thanks.

Are you engraving the ring here or in Turkey? If here in the US/Baltimore than why don't you allow the person doing the engraving to do the translation. Will this be engraved in modern Turkish?

Hey Adrienne, I'm getting it done in the states. The only thing I'm worried about is them translating it wrong, anyone can go to s translating site, I just want to make sure it's done grammatically correct. Not translated literally. It would be in modern Turkish. Thanks!

The saying puzzles me. Is "lil" a contraction of "little", or a nickname for a name, like "Lily"? You would need to be specifically clear, and include the proper capitalization, in order to get a meaningful translation.

Seems clear enough. His "forever" is obviously how long he'll love her and "lil mama" is obviously his nickname for her.

"sonsuzumun sonuna kadar kucuk anne" with American keyboard

"sonsuzumun sonuna kadar küçük anne" with English Keyboard

the differences are that the u letters in kucuk have two dots each and the c has a squiggle underneath

Sorry, I meant Turkish keyboard, for the second version.

Swedish or Norwegian may have the u with umlauts and French has the c cedilla.

No doubt an engraver can add them without too much trouble. I hope so as it just looks so much nicer with the umlauts and cedilla. :)

Umlauts and cedillas can be added with any keyboard, as can letters from Scandinavian languages, Spanish question and exclamation marks etc etc.

Usually the double quotation marks followed by the letter gives an umlaut. Alt And Alt gr keys will provide other letters and marks.

I would suggest that the "lil mama" stay in English. I don't think the nickname would have the same impact translated to the equivalent of "little mother" or whatever it ends up being in Turkish.

Some things cannot be translated in other languages....
I can imagine that lil mama will only sound ridiculous in Turkish, as it does in my native language Greek.

sonsuzumun sonuna kadar küçük anne is extremely long.. can that be engraved on a ring? just wondering....

I agree with clausar...lil mama is probably going to sound hopelessly weird translated into any language (but I'll defer to OC). And yes, that's a boatload of letters to engrave on a ring.

Does your fiancé read Turkish?

It would work better on a t-shirt.

being a native speaker,I wouldn't prefer a literal translation.

'forever with you' = 'sonsuza dek seninle' is a better option.
