Don't confuse admonishment with concern.

kja, I do appreciate your concern and/or advice, but we sleep quite well on the flight over so we feel rested when we land. A couple of hours in a car, especially with the excitement of a vacation just beginning, is fine for us.

Better, Aramis?

No, with 3 nts in Seville, 4 in Madrid will be good-- hopefully, you can have Sunday in Retiro Park, half day for the Prado and Reina Sophia (or something like that), Royal Palace; and perhaps a day trip to Toledo or Segrovia. We missed out on Toledo, but enjoyed Segrovia via the train. The flea market can be skipped IMHO totally. Be sure to catch the ham museum! No kidding, Iberian ham is to die for.

Driving with jet lag is trawled up here as often as "don't go to Southern Europe in August it's too hot".

Unfortunately Airballoon, you have been subjected to both.

Most of us who have crossed over longitudes many, many times are relatively unaffected by jetlag. The first time I travelled trans Atlantic I couldn't open the car door let alone drive 10 miles. Now, after 25 years, I wouldn't think twice about driving 100 miles or navigating a tricky sea passage with reefs.

Either it effects you or it doesn't.

Having a child helped me.

In terms of sleep deprivation, nothing compares to the sleep "warfare" with a 3 month old.
