Fodor's Travel Talk Forums - Amsterdam - Hotel choices

I've stayed at the Esthereea and the Ambassade. I think both are nice, but I like the Ambassade better. In both I am sure I paid under $160 per night. Probably both in the fall, not sure. I also think breakfast was included in at least one of them. The Ambassade has a little more charm for me, can't put my finger on it. In both I requested and got nice smallish canal-side rooms. The people running the Ambassade were sweeter and as I recall the breakfast room was prettier. Locations are comparable, both on major canals in quiet locations (tho people do walk by, it's a city). I hope to go back to the Ambassade. The other similar hotel liked by many people is the Pulitzer , also the Canal House.
