Where can you get American breakfast--Pancakes,Waffles-in London?<BR>My children can not do without their waffles and pancakes,ok I can keep them going without these items for 2-3 days but it will be a serious promlem later on.Advice please.

Perhaps you should rent a room with a kitchen where you could prepare the things you want to eat. For example, the Citadines hotels have kitchen facilities in them.

Maybe you would better stay home.

maybe if you didn't indulge your kids so much they would learn to appreciate other types of food. But if you must cater to them you would be better off renting an apartment than staying in a hotel. That way you can give them their pancakes, peanut butter, whatever whenever.

When we stayed at the Holiday Inn hotels in London and Paris they served a full american style breakfast. When you call to make your reservation the person will tell you if you ask the question. I don't feel that your children are being indulged, I completely understand since I do travel to London with my children several times per year. You can also try McDonalds, you would be amazed at how many eateries in London serve American food items. Supermarkets you should try would be Marks and Spencer also the food halls at Harrods and Selfridges. <BR><BR>Good Luck I wish more people would travel with their children.

I believe the McDonalds in the UK serve pancakes and sausage for breakfast, along with bacon rolls and other faves.<BR><BR>I fully understand how kids need something "normal" as part of foreign travel. It's just a meal, not a life choice, guys.

Full English breakfast is eggs (sometimes pancakes) sausage, bacon, ham, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereal and tea or juice. Very good.

I just love listening to these savage colonial americans who would consider any individual who seems anti-american as jealous. Proposterous! If there is anything that I know about americans is that since they are hated around the world entire and since no one gives them any credence (much as a result of the election of bush), they have developed a defence mechanism in order to address their issue because they seem to need to feel like they are superior.

I don't know how my questions appeared twice (?). Anyway, the breakfast sounds delicious. That will save me from buying lunch! LOL.

betty-<BR>that is exactly the way I felt every day at breakfast! Our hotel made the best fresh breads, androlls, and fresh fruit salads.Who could eat lunch after all that?? But tea in the late afternoon is good to revive you for the rest of the day.<BR>Hunk, you might want to check and see what your hotel provides,ours had pancakes and they were very solicitous of young children.<BR>Also, there is an excellent restaurant that I cannot remember the name of:) something like Richelieu? Richeau? that serves great eggs and scones, we always go there the morning we arrive.<BR>Have a great time~

my suggestion would be to try and visit some parenting web sites rather than Fodors and learn how to not be a slave to your kids' demands. Also, waffles is a disgusting start to the day and will give your kids a predisposition to obesity, bad skin, lethargy, heart problems etc in later life, so best posting this question on a health website to see how to teach your kids that a healthy breakfast is the best way.
