Amalfi Coast Hotels
Hi Am looking for a Hotel on the Amalfi Coast that is clean and in a good location and also looking for something that isnt to $$$ thanks for your help.
Rose, you might get more responses if you mention specifically where on the Amalfi Coast you'd like to stay -- Sorrento? Capri? Positano? Amalfi? or give some other clues to your trip.
Well im not even sure where would love positano but seems very $$$ so am open for any suggestions.
try www.karenbrown.com - Italy hotels and her Italy Inns - great recommends in Positano or Ravello
My own personal recommendation is the Onda Verde in Praiano. If you have a car it fits all your requirements.
web site: http://www.ondaverde.it/hotelim.htm For more details on visiting Amalfi, check out my website about our trip there: http://www.geocities.com/Yosemite/5733/amalfi.html |
I have booked Hotel Olympico in Salerno - found them on the internet.

Hi Rose,
We very much liked our stay at the Hotel Le Sirene in Praiano. www.lesirene.com. See my trip report http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34451044 |
we are going to amalfi coast in september and after much research on this site, i think we are going to book the miramare hotel in positano. their prices are very reasonable & the views are spectactular.
Thanks everyone.. I have gone with Iras suggestion and have made a booking at Hotel Le Sirene..
You have made a good choice Rose, check out the SITA bus timetables at WWW.sita-on-line.it for bus trips to Positano, Sorrento and Amalfi. (Campania)
Thanks Walkamalfi... what do you think about hiring a vespa in Priano to get around and see the other towns??
Hi Rose,
I think you will enjoy Le Sirene. Are you an experienced motorcycle driver? If not, Italy is not a good place to learn. |
A vespa is an ideal way of getting around the Amalfi Coast. I use mine almost every day in the summer months when parking becomes a nightmare. Driving does appear to be precarious to coachbound tourists but in a small car or on a vespa it gives the tourist a huge amount of freedom.
Look into Albergo California in Positano. Was cheap for the area, very clean, great location, free parking, huge rooms comparitively speaking.
Hi Ira,
Nope havent I didnt even think you need to know how to ride one.. Do you need a motorcycle licence?? Thanks Swaletr will look into that as well!!! |
Hi rose,
I'm sure you could rent a vespa without a motorcycle license. However, learn to drive one before you go to Italy. |
