another vote for Pavillon de la Reine..also consider Hotel Duc de Saint simon (or something like that)..it is in the 7th just off rue du Bac..very quiet and very Parisien...

While I think the D'Aubusson is sooo beatiful, friends stayed in the Duc de St Simon this past fall and raved about it. I would be interested in staying there myself!

Pavillon de la Reine is over 200 euros as is Duc de St Simon as is Victoria Place. Are you all really trying to help Bassman find a hotel or just brag about the expensive hotels you have stayed in? Honestly they are lovely but OVER 200 euros which was a requirement.

Read #4 of Bassman's post. "Will pay more for something really special." |

You are flat out wrong. Read the posters original question, which clearly states a willingness to spend more for special place, which some clearly think Pavillon de la Reine, etc, are. Nobody is bragging about where they stayed, so keep in in check please |
Hi Fodorites,
Sorry to be have been out of touch, but our home was burgarlized last week and we are still churning because of it! Despite insurance, we still lost a ton. For those of you who do not have a monitored alarm system I recommend it highly. We really regret not having one at the time... Bassman |
We went to Paris for a week last June for our 20th anniversary. We had the same criteria as you, though I wasn't pregnant. :) So many hotels under 200e have gorgeous lobbies and generic rooms. Anyway, after spending 2 solid weeks researching this, we decided to go with a B&B through www.bed-and-breakfast-in-paris.com. It was the perfect place...on Ile St. Louis with charming host/hostess, lovely antiques, the most comfy bed and pillows, and individual service since we were the only couple there. Our hosts made it so special, giving us champagne on our anniversary and things like that (at no extra cost!). I wouldn't have traded our experience there for anything. Take a peek at the website. Francoise Foret is the agent and she has nearly 100 places in Paris; I'm sure one will suit you. I posted a *very* detailed report about this place when we came back. Search around June/July and I'm sure you'll find it.

I surprised my wife for her birthday with a long weekend in Paris this past December. We stayed in the Hotel K K Cayre in the 7th, just off the Blvd. St. Germaine. It was wonderful. Our room had a balcony with a terrific view. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. It is very close to shopping, cafes, and Paris attractions. A big plus was the metro stop just outside the door. Staff was attentive and extremely helpful. Helpful will also be reviews at www. tripadvisor.com. Have a great time!
