So glad you are still here...I got a reply from the Victoria. They have a vacancy. I accepted so now I have to canel the Venere one...I hope I can do that. The Victoria is more money but sounds so much better...am waiting for confirmation. They were full before ..

Thanks for the url..I think if I need you I will have to post your name in the heading...would that bother you?...

It wouldn't bother me, but you should get the benefit of the experiences of other travelers who've also been to these places. Sometimes posters show up who even live in these places.

When one person's name appears on the title of the post, very often all the other posters don't look at it, or feel like they shouldn't respond. You don't want that!

So the best thing to do is to put the name of the place you want information about like you did with this thread about Bologna.

Venere has an FAQ link that explains how to cancel a booking through their system. The Victoria is quite nice. It's a throwback to the days when many Italians believed a British hotel was the height of elegance.

Of course you are right about putting a name in the heading. However, the advice you are giving me is so great, I am getting spoiled. The others who have posted here are great too...I feel I have friends.

I do wish there was an online chat.

I liked that article you posted. I just copied it and will take it with me. Turin sounds so exciting to me...and fortunately now we are booked for the whole trip.

It was awhile ago... but I remember a very pleasant stay at the Victoria. Have a wonderful trip.
