Yes... i meant Nice, as in Cote d'Azur... :)
Near sea apartments are cheaper, compared to the hotels that are sea facing... the cheapest I could get for a seaview room at La Perouse is 330euros per night! Right now, I dunno if i shd just giving up Nice (and a chance to go across to Monaco) but im not sure where else to go that is a change from Paris... |
3sica, A complete change from Paris would be Provence rather than the Nice area.
I just told someone on another thread about my adding a bit of Provence to my upcoming trip. I am taking the TGV to Avignon, picking up car and going to a favorite spot www.riboto-de-taven.fr in Les Baux. I love the Alpilles, the olive trees the whole charming area. Perhaps this is the change that you are looking for.. Joan |
perhaps a bit out of the way for first time travellers like us? my husband actually likes seasides... any recommendations? which is accessible by train from Paris and doesnt involve driving on our own?
we initally intended to fly back from Nice since BA could do that, which meant we fly to Heathrow, Eurostar to Paris, TGV to Nice and fly back from there... |
Cassis is a charming area that would be different for you, along with the sea. TGV to Avignon, pick up rental car and drive to Cassis and back the same way.
So many choices.... Joan |
hi joan
i have just studied the map...jus wanted to know if Meursault is actually in the 15th or 7th? i am a bit confused.... |
oh yes... one other thing...
my husband is a Harley Davidson freak and I just found that we can rent one in Paris! Are the roads there easy to navigate? Would we have a problem if we are to go to all the sights ourselves on bike? |
The Meursault is in the 7th..on La Motte Picquet..between Ecole Militaire and La Tour Maubourg metro stations..short distance to r. cler.
Don't know much about the Harley for driving around Paris. Parking it might be a problem. Someone else might be able to answer your questions about it.. Joan |
