Dear Mr. Haines:

So sorry to hear that you have been under the weather. Best wishes for a complete recovery very soon.

I have missed your wonderful posts. You make me very proud to be English. I as well hope the software glitch is corrected quickly.

JudyC - Is there an address for snail mail?

Sandy

Re SandyBrit:

I find it interesting you are "proud to be English" yet your name quite clearly uses British. Furthermore England and Britain are effectively one and the same, a most unusual manner of putting things.

Mr. Haines: I'm sending you loving, healing thoughts. I thought you were away on an adventure.

I must tell you I enjoyed your London very, very much... Thanks so much for your help.

Thanks Judy for letting us know about Ben. I was just thinking about him yesterday and realized there hadn't been any recent postings from him. We really miss you Ben! I hope you will be feeling better real soon. I would love to send snail to Ben also. ... Molly in Texas

Mr. Haines you are missed on this forum! I hope you are able to recover quickly and will be back to traveling planning and traveling very soon.

M_Kingdom, take it somewhere else, this thread is for well wishes to a Fodor's Friend, your pompous remarks are not appropriate here.

Adding my wishes for a speedy recovery to the long list. Ben Haines has my vote for most inspirational poster on this board.

Mr Haines-
I was just alerted to this thread by my father. Please get better well, well before our honeymoon in July, when my fiance and I are still looking very forward to enjoying a meal with you.

I hope you are well soon, Mr. Haines. I also hope very much that Fodors straightens out whatever is keeping you off the forum. You have given me very sound advice about Poland and definitely helped making that a fantastic trip. I have also benefitted from your train knowledge and just enjoyed your posts about London. Hope you are back soon.

This is a great thread, I'm happy to be able to thank Mr Haines for all his posts over the years - patient, consistent and always spot on information. Although I haven't had the pleasure to take any of his advice, I do admire it, and it is always a good read for me for armchair traveling!

MelJ Feb 13th, 2004 09:08 PM

Mr. Haines:

Wishing you a speedy recovery and thanking you for all your help, advice and civility on the board.

I imagine this means you haven't been able to get out on the bike. Heal quickly.

Come back soon,
Mel

Ben Haines: I hope you are re-connected soon so that you can read and take pleasure from all of these e-mails from the many people who you have helped and who admire your knowledge and unfailing courtesy. Get well soon!

I hope that Fodors does something to acknowledge some of the great contributors to these web sites -- you on London and central & Eastern Europe & Maribel on Spain.

jmw44 Feb 14th, 2004 05:32 AM

Feel better soon, Ben! Your posts regarding train travel in southern England -- especially garden notes -- are part of my treasured references.

By the way, I recently had the same difficulty and had to re-register. Is there any chance, this could have been caused by one of those worms? J.
