HA that way my plan about lip balm, too.
Honestly--I've done this a couple of times with a lighter, when I've had a special lighter with me that I forgot to leave at home. I just stuck it down my shirt. um..homeland security, I hope you're not reading this.. |
Maybe if we also add a few $10 bills and some kleenex, we can convince the TSA that no, we weren't trying to smuggle, but that we always use our bras as purses.

LOL missiepie!!
don't forget about the random piece of stale gum |
"So what do you recommend for guys?"
I know you were kidding, but to be serious, I think when women have pockets in their clothing, they prefer to use those. Most men's clothes have pockets. I've generally only used my bra when I had a skirt or dress on with no pockets. I've never seen the point of carrying an entire purse (and incapacitating an entire arm because it has to protect the purse) just for the sake of hanging onto a few small foldable bills. I think if dressmakers added pockets, this issue would be solved. :S- |
What a funny thread! I think it's a neat idea! I hated to do it, but I bought a money belt for my next trip just because I didn't want to risk losing/having stolen my passport and credit cards, cash, etc. When the money belt came it I tried it on with the yoga pants I planned on wearing on the flight. It made me laugh to read about the 'square ankle' posting because my passport gave me a very odd-looking midsection!

i rember when i was at the drive in movie with a date as we were smooching he discovered i was carrying my change purse inside my bra. not asking what it was for some time he finally asked me what i had in there. we both had a good laugh for ourself. i told him thats something we girls do espically if i dont have pockets. its something i have done all my life. guys will get a kick out of it thats for sure!!!linda

Guys will get even more of "kick out of it" if you let them pull it out for you.

If I put my money in my bra, I will just have to find a new place for my cell phone, makeup, and hairbrush...
|
Is it time to bring back the codpiece?
|
Liked that ans, Chicagolori!!
When I was in Peru, I bought something from a female vendor on the street. To give me change, she flipped forward the waistband of her shorts, unzippered the inside of the waistband (hidden pocket) and gave me change. I thought it was pretty clever - but haven't adopted it. |
I guess that is what you call a "padded bra."
|
Bras can also be used to hold cell phones. I have a friend who calls her cell a "braphone." LOL

It gives new meaning to endowment fund.
A bizarre variation on that theme My aunt was working in the admissions office of a vocational school. This fellow comes in for a scheduled appoitnment and apropos of nothing said to my aunt, "Do you like jewelry?" She said yes with some hesitation. The guy pulls up his pant leg, takes off an artificial limb, and removes a pouch of jewelry and asked, "Do you like any of this?" My aunt is telling us the story and asked what should she have said. I suggested, "No, what do you have in the other leg." |
I use a tiny cloth rectangular "bag" with a zipper on top made by Vera Bradley, fold the bills inside it and stuff it inside my bra. I use it all the time and highly recommend it!

Oh great. Now if somebody's flat chested, people know they're "under-endowed" AND broke.
|
last month after a day at the office we went to the local pub to relax. something we do on fridays. one of my friends that owed me some money paid me 100 in singles knowing i would be putting it into my bra. thinking he was funny he wanted to see what i did with a two inch wad of ones. i guess i frieked them all out when i folded it in half and pushed it into the cup. yes i did have corners showing that night. thats o.k. i still got the money that was owed to me. linda
|
sometimes at the beach i will put a small change purse inside my bra top. keeping it dry is another story.
|
Oh, Linda, thank you for pulling up this thread!
What I remember from my childhood in USSR, women wrapping money up in handkerchifs, then dumping them down. |
Um - what if your bras don;t have any padding? (I haven't needed it since I was 12 - and a wad of cash in one of my bras would look extremely odd.)
