I wasn't saying that the CHILD would mind the pre-made crepes; the adults would. It would be easier to convince the child to walk a bit further to the next crepe stand if the child had a brief "education" on crepes before hand. But I agree - put chocolate or nutella in it, and a kid will love it, even if it was made two hours ago.

This is all such great advice. I think the food situation will work out nicely...she just had crepes for the first time at a friends house. The grandmother is french and made lovely crepes for the kids. My daughter ate about 10 of them.

It's funny about Disney. We took her when she was about 2 1/2. Only because it was a free trip. She had fun and she'd probably have fun again when we go in October (another free trip)...I've always been pretty anti Disney but with an almost 4 year old daughter, I do just suck it up now. But one trip to Disney is as much as this pregnant person can take. Unless my husband wants to take her and leave me at a cafe eating onion soup and pastries.

Hi - we went with my 3 year old daughter to Paris this summer. Had a wonderful time. Great playgrounds, pony rides, carousels, etc. in Champ du Mars near the Eiffel Tower. Also, she loved the Musee Branly. There are a series of books here in the UK called Katie at the Picture Show (with the Impressionists, etc.) which make some wonderful connections for going to the museums and seeing some of the pictures in them. If you have been to Disneyland/world in the US, I would advise against Disney-Paris. Small, wayyy overcrowded and just not the same magic as in the US - and if you're pregnant, probably really not worth the bother this time. Spend your time hanging out in Paris, at the markets, museums, playgrounds, etc. or go on other day trips. You'll have a lot more fun that way. Are you renting an apt there or staying at a hotel?

RebeccaG, I just got a copy of the National Geographic with a photo essay on the parks and greenspaces in Paris. If you haven't seen it, try to take a look!

I haven't had the pleasure (yet, although I hope to rectify that) of traveling to Paris with children, but I've spent a lot of time there, and have also traveled with children...and I think staying in Paris w/a couple of day trips is a great idea. I completely disagree with the idea that you'll need to get away from the pace of a city. Just set your own pace and don't try to do too much in any one day. (Keep in mind also that the days will be fairly short in November.) I don't feel stressed or rushed when I am there; it is almost as relaxing as a trip to the beach. : ) Leisurely walks...watching your kids play in a park...stopping for a pain au chocolat on the way back to your apartment...I think I need to start lobbying for a return trip of my own.

Bon voyage!!

10 days in Paris is nowhere too long, but I'd like to put in a word for the French countryside, which we love. An SNCF train south somewhere like Sarlat or even nearer like La Roche Posay or Loches, and a stroll around the medieval towns, to the markets, maybe out into the countryside, would be relaxing and rewarding.

Take a train to Doville-Troville and then rent a car to go to Honfleur (20 minutes away), then use the car to go to Mont Saint Michel (2:30 hrs), I just got from there last week and it was quite impresive.

I noticed the first response suggested Chartres...if you do go there, there is a little "train" which drives around the areas surrounding the cathedral. Maybe a 4 year old would think that's fun, while you could rest and have a tour of the area. There is also a labyrinth in the cathedral which my kids enjoyed.
