The 3 of us have been cruising princess and have taken 6 trips my wife and sisterinlaw have 7 trips so far. Baltic 12 day and assorted warm water trips. The first trip was the best and we still keep in touch withsome friends we made. Other trips not so good, I think you have to sometime work at finding shipmates you like. We have for the most part ran across a good bunch on trips we went on.

Wow, this is pretty amazing stuff. We generally cruise to relax, kick back and for some reason don't find the need to be chummy and clannish. We do our thing, enjoy meeting people from different parts of the world, but don't take it as BFF status relationships. We aren't snobby, but some people just prefer a little privacy and don't feel the need to be the life of the party every minute. Guess that comes with maturity? And thanks, Aristotle, for pointing out we are all "just people" cruising the byways of life...

We normally cruise by ourselves for many reasons and as you mentioned MountRose we do it to relax, see as much as we can. Both Parrot Pop and I love to say Hello to fellow cruisers and staff and are very outgoing. Yet, I love our time by the pool or the jacuzzi to just snooze, read, people watch or do crossword puzzles..For the past ten years os so when I discovered the cruise boards I found it was fun to exchange information to fellow cruisers..Cruisers on the whole have been extremely helpful, I've found a fantasic hotel in Barcelona, a guide/driver, many hintS from somebody named Calgon...and in return I feel I should "pay it forward".. and I try to I certainly don't expect to be making best friends. My original complaint was that of the past four years being on Celebrity boards and now an NCL. I've been shocked at the two or three people on a Princess board who are downright snide.. That's okay..I learned something today about being reimbursed for Yellow Fever and Tetnus shots that I wouldn't think of sharing with them.. and that;s not me.. For instance more than 15 y ears ago from Calgon I learned of the shoe bags for the cabin..and I've shared that as my number one hint for new cruisers.. It always amuses me to read/hear of people telling about buying shoe bags for their cabin, but that's okay... parrot pop and I have our own good time, but these particular people on the second part of our cruise live in their own world..and only they count..lol
