AGREEMENT IS WHEN BOTH PARTIES AGREE ON SOMETHING. Caps lock off now. So I am saying it is right whatever paying party wish to do with their money and it is wrong to tell paying party what to do. This what we agreed on. IMO

Triathlete,

You are beating a dead horse...

BTW, it's nice to know there are still a few decent people in this dog-eat-dog world we live in.

Ziana Jan 25th, 2006 05:58 AM

Dead horse is dead when she says she is dead...not a second prior to it!

Decency is when you go into business knowing you might gonna LOSE and excepting it...for mankind!

triathlete Jan 25th, 2006 07:39 AM

lol, you may be right, but let me try one more time.

Z:

If caps will help: OF COURSE AGENTS COMPETE TO OFFER THE BEST DEAL, and if an agent doesn't offer it, he or she doesn't deserve the business.

However, if the agent DOES OFFER THE BEST DEAL you should buy from that agent--not ask someone else WHO ORIGINALLY OFFERED YOU A WORSE DEAL to match the price.

Capice?

Ziana Jan 25th, 2006 09:26 AM

tri, It would be idiotic! It is one more call I don't have time for...

About: not ask someone else WHO ORIGINALLY OFFERED YOU A WORSE DEAL to match the price

I would not because It would be idiotic! It is one more call I don't have time for...
BUT!!! If someone choose to do so for variety of reasons - they should NOT be chased by TA or anyone at that point because paying their money it is solely THEIR prerrogative and NO ONE has say in anyone's spending.

Capice you?

P.S. Example - one of the agents give me a great price BUT asking that all of the cc copies (back/front), DL copies (back/front) and cc autorization forms will be faxed to her office.
I was fine before my groups said 'are you out of your **** mind???'
And I called another one who booked me $50 cheaper NO FAXES whatsoever...now teach me how to live again!!! PLEASE, no please, do! I insist! Thanks for your time. Hugs

Amazingly, I think we're on the same page.

Hugs back!

It has been often said , "No two people on the same plane pay the same price" This rule can also be , albeit , loosely applied to cruise agents.

Since the cruise lines have cracked down on agents discounting prices and also "forbid" rebating the of commission to the clients (although not sure how they ever know if this happens) one now finds the cruise prices to be identical no matter where you book them, except that some of the on line outfits charge you $15 service fee so the on line ones may actually cost MORE than a TA.

triathlete Jan 26th, 2006 03:10 PM

Not true, Curt. Only Royal & Celeb forbid rebating--the others only forbid the advertising of lower rates.

Plus, you can still get RCL & Celeb group rates which are less. Also, because RCL & Celeb have gotten CREAMED because of their genius policies (lots of empty cabins right now), they're back-tracking as fast as they can (without admitting it publicly, of course). Agents are now allowed to give--get this--"casino credits" on these cruises. (i.e., walk into the casino and they will hand you some cash).

A rose by any other name...

OK interesting. Misunderstood that. thanks
