Our travel agent booked my friends and I into the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau. There were 3 women sharing two doubles. Not a big deal, but when we arrived, there were two twin beds in the room. Thank goodness they understood our plight and gave us 2 rooms, each with a king and comped the second room (I think the travel agent had to eat it). I checked the website, they list it as two twins, but most other travel/hotel sites list it as doubles.. You just have to be careful and check these things.

Try looking into renting a 2 or 3 bedroom timeshare instead. Also, you can request a roll away bed if you need more sleeping space in a hotel.

Here are a few hotels we stayed in this year with doubles, The Dolphin in Disneyworld, Elbow Beach in Bermuda, the Hyatt in Baltimore and The Fiesta Bavaro Resort in the DR. All literature from the Fiesta states 2 queen beds, the beds are not queens they are doubles. Even when we got there they claimed the beds were queens. You can call it whatever you want, but they are still doubles.

And yes xxx, we take several trips a year. So what? If I pay to take my family to the caribbean, choose a hotel with queens to be more comfortable and then end up with doubles, I'm not allowed to complain???? Well excuuuse me!!

Oh and Linda, I'm doing what you suggested. Thanks. I just contacted several people about renting condos at the Westin and Hacienda Del Mar in Cabo San Lucas. A separate bedroom with king bed plus a pull out queen sofa in the living room. Should be much more comfortable at the same price as a hotel room!
