package deals
What are some good websites to go to check out air/hotel packages? We're planning on staying at the Bucuti on Aruba in Oct or Nov. We don't want All-Inclusive. And are Apple Vacations usually pretty good? Thanks!

I've used Liberty Travel several times and have always gotten a great deal. You might try their website, www.libertytravel.com to compare prices.
Also www.travelocity.com, www.expedia.com, and www.cheaptickets.com and you might check with all the airlines for hotel/air packages as well. Delta has some great carribean packages sometimes, so check there www.delta.com Hope this helps. |
go to aruba-bb.com It is a bulletin board on just aruba. They have given me great advice before our trip. you may want to try MCM tours. That was one that is mentioned.

I've been on several Apple Vacations and they've all been good. They get some good package prices.

We travel to Aruba frequently and have tried several different ways of pricing and still get the best deals(they throw in a lot of extra perks) from Travel Unlimited http://www.travelunlimited.com

We use Fun Jet vacations for the Caribbean and Mexico. www.funjet.com

Have used Apple Vacations and Funjet - both are reasonable. Apple has a website where you can look at options but must book thru a travel agent. Funjet's website will let you book directly. I hear good things about Travelzoo, but I think it's more of a last minute site, rather than a 6 month out travel site.
Dependent upon where you live, all of the major airlines sell package deals. They can be a little more expensive than Apple or Funjet, but have the advantage of scheduled air, rather than charters. As a gold frequent flyer with American, if I book a trip on AAVacations.com, I get my frequent flyer mileage, plus my upgrade requests, plus my choice of regularly scheduled flights out of my home airport, with reserved seats - rather than driving to Chicago or Minneapolis to get a charter flight. Northwest sells similar packages, as does Delta. Charters are cheaper but you don't get your seat assignment until you check it and if you miss the flight - you're in trouble. However, I certainly have done this many times in years past with no particular difficulty, and the packages are often good deals. |
What exactly is travelunlimited.com? A travel agent, a consoliator...? We got a good price from them--the same as the price we got from AAVacations (American Airlines), but they didn't throw in any freebies.

Travel Unlimited (www.travelunlimited.com) is a great agency that has good package rates and very good service. We have used them for years and have never had a problem. Very reliable agency.

If you are in the Boston area - definitely try TNT Vacations or GWV Travel - both have great rates to Aruba for air or packages.
