I think you're better off in Runaway bay to be honest! It is closer to Ocho rios and also to St. Ann's Bay. You can swim with Dophins in Ocho Rios too.<BR>Take that bug spray whatever you do!

Island bug remedies: Yes, there ARE bugs (roaches,ticks,mosquitoes,no-see-ums,sand fleas,ants,'40-legs' aka centipedes and scorpions)in the islands.<BR>Locals use 'alligator coils', long spirals of greenish pleasant-smelling incense, or VAPA-KILLA (always loved the name), a pellet burned in a small electric plug-in contraption or imported brand-specific Shell No Pest Strips. Deet-based repellents seem to work best. Dusk and twilight are the bug hours. Ticks are most prevalent in dry season in the bush;but luckily,there's no Lyme disease in islands. Post-rains are when mosquitoes come out;mangroove swamps in summer are to be avoided since dengue/bone fever is rampant then.

Has anyone been to the Royal Decameron in Runaway Bay? I'm trying to find out what I can about it. Any info would be appreciated.

Jamaica is a wonderful island to visit. My wife and I have been there a number of times and have always come home relaxed and full of great memories. There are too many good drinks to list here but a must is an ice cold Red Stripe. The airport can be a hassle if you arrive the same time a number of other flights are arriving. I have found that padding the hand of a bell hop in the airport with some cash can greatly speed your time spent in line at customs here. You should do Dunn's River Falls once. It can be crowded, but it is a fun experience.Most importantly just get a cold drink and sit back and soak the Jamaican sun and hospitality up.
