Wow! I've seen Mike on other postings, and he wounds very opinionated (which is OK if all the information were correct) But one must compare apples to apples. Decide on: <BR>Price <BR>Surroundings <BR>Activities (and nightlife if needed) <BR>and then compare. You simply can't compare a Ritz chain hotel in St. Thomas to Caneel Bay in St. John. Each one has their following. Do you prefer 5-star w/chandelier, gold & marble, and impeccable service? Or rather indigenous caribbean (laid back)casual elegant atmosphere. Go to the store and read up with Frommers and Fodors. Then decide for yourself without all this "personal opinions" which probably don't match your own! <BR>

Thank you all for your input, we have decided to go to Caneel Bay, it sounds exactly like what we were looking for. We prefer the smaller, more elegant resorts to the large annoying chains with a million people running around. Life is chaotic enough, that we like our vacations to be more serene.
