Has anyone been to Barbados? What is the safety, price level, scenery, etc.?
|
My favorite island is South Andros Island in the Bahamas. It has all the beauty and intrigue of the Caribbean but is years behind in terms of development and population. We stayed at the Andros Beach Club which was fabulous.

I may be spoiled as STJ was my first Caribbean experience. It is hard to compare anyplace else after that! STJ does not have to be expensive. Choose your villa or other accomodations wisely, and eat in most of the time. Bring your own snorkel gear...there is not a lot of nightlife, no gambling or clubbing, not much for tourist trap places...you will not spend much for the extras. But save some $$$ for the ferry to JVD, hike to White Bay and have Painkillers and conch fritters at Soggy Dollar...life cannot be better!

Thanks GoT. I looked up some stuff on those and bookmarked them. Someday we want to try to exoerience the "old Carribean"
To Mycuppajava: If yoiu like Starbucks you would luv Seattle. :D There as ubiquitous there as rain. :-). We spent one day in Barbados during a cruise and though we were limited I liked what I saw. The people were very friendly. My sons girlfriend was with us and she just loved it. Cheers. Larry :-) |
We're tied between Nevis and Kauai. We like that Kauai has not become ultramodern like some of the other Hawaiian islands and still has that "Hawaiian" feel to it. Great restaurants and a very spiritual feel to it. Nevis has a feel to it like a Caribbean island from years ago before all the people started visiting and no cruise ships! BTW, it reminds us of Kauai!

Then I will like Seattle in July. I have a week trip planned in Seattle/Victoria/Vancouver. I will check ye ole Starbucks out! :)

Cool. :-) There are many of them there, about one very block. BTW and FYI we did the tourist thing of having dinner in the space needle's rotating restaurant. The food was pretty good but overpricced. I wouldn't do it again. Speaking of "ye olde" there is a rather unique "Ye Olde Curiosity Shop" by the waterfront which was pretty interesting. Have fun. Larry :-)

Kauai Hawaii is #1 on our list followed by St John...both for natural beauty.
Knowing, I guess I need to go to Nevis..sounds pretty! Christie |
