Born in NY and raised in NJ. Have lived in central VA for about 8 years.
Va is a great place to raise our kids, but not as easy to travel from. Coming out of NJ was much more direct. Although we have a nice small airport that I feel very comfortable coming home to. No hassles. |
NC about two hours from you!

Born in Chicago, live in San Diego.

Originally NY, then Chicago, Michigan and finally Northern VA. Love it here - right outside Washington, D.C.
|
Originally from Red Sox country too, then on to Hartford, NYC, Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, San Francisco, Washington, DC and now on the coast of Maine, where we had a bit of sun and warmth for the first time in 23 or 24 days. Not that anyone's really counting, of course.
But I am considering a move to a warmer climate :-) ! Marion |
Born and raised in Minnesota, now living in Seattle since 1996 with 3 years on St. Croix in between. Married to a wonderful woman, Julie (a Negrilaholic) who came with a daughter, Natalie. We have an 18 month old son, Brenden together.

CaribbeanSoul..How was it living on St Croix??
|
St. Croix is beautiful. It is definitely the "step-child" of the USVI as far as the tourism department is concerned. Hurricane Hugo, in 1989, devastated the island and turned the lush paradise into a brown Arizona. I don't believe the island has yet recovered from that disaster. I arrived shortly after and remnants of the storm were still prevalent in the landscape and were when I left. I have returned once, in 1995. I lived on St. Croix from 1990-1993 and worked for a CPA firm in Christiansted. I loved the island life....but I was still pretty young (early 20's) and eventually the novelty grew old. I wasn't making a whole lot of money and the cost of living is quite high....so I moved back to MN for a couple of years before landing in Seattle (the greatest city in the world!!!). I still feel like a tourist here....jaw dropping views of the mountains and water everywhere. But....back to STX....it is the most comfortable island for living in the USVI due to its relative flatness and size. It does boast a rainforest on the west end of the island and many beautiful beaches. A couple of the most beautiful ones are located on the east end and only accessible by 4WD. We used to have lobster bakes on the beach that lasted way into the early morning!
