Message: BELOW is a RECENT news story about a murder in St. Maarten at the MAHO BEACH RESORT.<BR><BR><BR>The Globe and Mail<BR>Copyright (c) 2001 by The Globe and Mail<BR>National News<BR>Friday, November 2, 2001<BR>By John Saunders<BR>In Brief<BR>Canadian worker killed in Caribbean<BR>A Canadian construction worker preparing to head home was stabbed to death this week in his hotel room in St. Maarten, a hotel official said yesterday.<BR><BR>Police in the Dutch Caribbean possession said that Denis Gagnon, 40, formerly of the Montreal suburb of Longueil, was stabbed repeatedly with a weapon they have yet to find.<BR><BR>His body was found on Wednesday morning at the 600-room Maho Beach Resort and Casino, which he helped rebuild after a hurricane wrecked it.<BR><BR>Commissioner T. M. Peterson, who commands the St. Maarten detective bureau, said investigators lacked a suspect and a reason for the killing.<BR><BR>They had yet to reach Mr. Gagnon's relatives.

Not at all a scare post. Safety is a major issue for many people. Nice to know the St. Maarten murder was solved.
