cancun anyone
Has anyone visited the Westin Regina, Cancun. Need info asap.
|
I stayed at the Westin Regina Cancun in October l993. The hotel is very beautiful. It has a very unique loby, in the fact that it is completely open air off of a plaza with 50 little lighted fountains. The floral arangements are delivered in the back of a pickup they are so large. There are several pools some with water falls on both ocean and lagoon side of the hotel. From the beach you can see the gentle curve of the gulf and the hotels built on the shore. I was not impressed with the one dinner I had there, but lunch at the beach was very well done views of both ocean and pools. They do a very good job at attending to guests needs and are very helpful.

The only resort I would consider in Cancun is the Ritz-Carlton. It is beautiful, the service is superb and the food excellent. The location is perfect. |
How much does the Ritz cost per night?
I want to go May 15 for one week? |
I would recommend Royal Solaris Resort. Its real nice pluse its all-inclusive.

My family and I just came back from Cancun last night(Thursday April 10 1997). We stayed at the Westin Regina and it was nice. The location was somewhat far from the rest of Cancun, but it was nice that way, alot less crowded. The hotel rooms were
large and well cleaned. If possible try to get a room on the first floor ocean side its a lot nicer than the lagoon side. There were six pools and always plenty of room. The food in the hotel restaurant was very expensive, we only ate there a few times because of that. There are several other places to go and eat that have better food and cheaper prices than this one. We really liked the restaurant called Captains Cove,(across from the Omni Hotel) prices were good and food was great! All in all it was a nice place to stay. If you have any other questions E-Mail me at [email protected]. Hope you enjoy your trip!! |
My family and I just got back from the Westin Regina, Cancun last night, (Thursday April 10). The hotel was nice. The rooms were large and very clean. Try to get a room on the first floor, ocean side. It was the nicest there, a lot more convienent.
The 6 pools were lovely and the ocean was beautiful. The people at the hotel were very friendly. The food was alright at the Westin but it was very expensive. For food we reccomend Captains Cove, located acroos from the Royal Mayan. The food there was e excellent and the prices were great! Be sure to bring your sunscreen, the weather was hot around 92 degrees every day. Hope you have a great time and if you have any more questions for me please E-mail me at the address listed above. |

Help: we want to spend a nice 4 day getaway in cancun some- water sports, good food, peace. anyone have any ideas on where ? 2 adults, no kids, just us and a bottle sunscreen. need this asap. |
Looking for info on Melia hotel in Cancuun. Senior trip staying there.

RE: water sports, food, peace and a good time. Cancun is the place to do get all of these. They have great water sports - you can do it on your own; there are tons of organized water tours and tons of places offer lessons ins scuba diving, windsailing, jet skiing etc... I recommend the jungle tour. It combines snorkelling and doubling up on a sea-doo. It's really fun. For food, there are tons of places that range from italian to chinese to mexican and of course, american. For peace, a nice rest on the beach is heavenly. Just try to wake up early to get a good spot on the beach. There are tons of organized sporting events on the beach offered by the hotels. All you need to do is check their schedule out. It's a great place. I've been there 5 times already and I still love it.

Has anyone heard what the difference is between the Sun Palace hotel and the Moon Palace hotel? Which one is the newest? Are they both 6* hotels? I do know that they are both owned by the same company and are all-inclusive hotels....HELP!

I saw your message at Fodor's. I am wondering if you received any response for Melia. If you stayed there, please give me some info. Thanks a lot!!!

Anyone out there who has been to either:
1. Omni Cancun 2. Camino Real Cancun 3. Melia Cancun 4. Hyatt Caribe 5. Inter-Continental Presidente Please e-mail me at [email protected] Any response will be greatly appreciated |
We stayed at the Westin Camino Real several years ago. It was great! If possible get a room in the tower facing the ocean rather than the bay. The location of this hotel is great because it is right on the point(Punta Cancun). We also stayed at the Krystal two hotels down the first visit. My choice is the Camino Real. This area also provides some of the best swimming at the beaches.Have a great time!

My wife and I are going to Cancun with another couple and staying at the Diamond Resort-Playacar. Know anything about this place? It is our first time and we are real excited.
|
My husband and I are going to Cancun in Sept. Can anyone tell us about the Crown Princess Club all-inclusive resort?
|
My friend and I are in our early 20's and going to Cancun at the end of July. Anything happening at the time? Also, just wondering about the newly renovated Calinda Beach resort, NOT Calinda Viva. Where are the hot spots in the summer??

Have been to and am going again this August to the Hyatt Cancun Caribe. Very relaxing and quiet if you have a Regency Club Villa room. It is away from the crowds, you have your own small pool and fairly empy beach. Have not been there for two years and looking forward to going back.

My wife & I stayed at the Hyatt Cancun Caribe last October. Very nice property, great beach, excellent restaurants. People very friendly. Watch out for time share pitch...avoid!!

I stayed at the Omni in '89 when it first opened when I was on my honeymoon. Because the trip was so long ago, the only recommendation I would make is to be sure your room faces the ocean, not the road for two reasons--noise and view.
We have since had three trips into Cancun but always stayed elsewhere. We flew into Cancun and stayed in Playa del Carmen -- less expensive and more natural. Also no smell from overflowing septic systems. We spent a few days on an island called Hobox. We ferried over to the island with Mexican tourists and a cow. Rooms were $13 a day for the best hotel on the island; building perpendicular to ocean. Food ok, only other tourists were Japanese world traveler and a couple of gay guys evidently looking for a private location. Although no one spoke English and we didn't speak Spanish, we had a great time, and it was like a scene out of a Tex-Mex Western movie. Picturesqe with people visiting on the town square at night and selling their produce there during the day. A memorable experience. Truly unspoiled. |
We're going to Cancun in December for our honeymoon. Does anyone know anything about the Blue Bay all-inclusive resort?
|
Me and my wife stayed in Cancun at the Club Las Velas all-inclusive in April of 1997. The resort was beutiful but it was on the lagoon side, and I would advise anyone who is going to stay on the ocean side. A must side trip would be Xcaret, it was fantastic and an all day trip that was inexpensive. We found Cancun to be to built up and commercial for our liking, We go to Jamaica every Feb. and like it so much better.

Concerning the Melia Cancun Beach and Spa Resort (not the Melia Turquesa): my husband and I stayed there at the end of March '95--we absolutely loved it. The beach in front of the hotel was gorgeous and was cleaned every night, the pools were beautiful altho we never used them 'cus we loved the warm Caribbean so much, the room were very nice, but we would get an ocean-view next time--lagoon view was not so great. The balconies were completely private which we really liked. The fitness center was state-of-the-art and very beautiful--several treamills, bikes, weights, tvs in the ceiling. We ate our brunch every morning at the Quetzal restaurant right on the premises. The service for the rooms and in the restaurant and the front desk was wonderful. The location was great--only about a 10 min. bus ride from the "happening" end of town. There were no spring breakers in the hotel. Needless to say, we loved the Melia. We visited the Ritz and the Marriott--nice, but we preferred the Melia. We also stayed in '96 at the Caesar Park--quite a toss-up between the two--the C.P. was just as nice--bigger pool area, but we prefer the ocean. I preferred the fitness ctr at the Melia. We would definitely stay at either place again. Have fun!!

We stayed at Camino Real 2 years ago and plan on staying there again in February, 1998 for a week. We loved it there and can't see staying anywhere else. We've been doing a lot of homework on Cancun and places to stay, etc. etc..... Nothing seems to be better than Camino Real. The beaches are excellent and more secluded and private than others on the hotel zone, the locations is perfect, right on the elbow, close to shopping etc. Staff and service was perfect. Excellent place to stay. |
does anyone have a opinion on the cancun sheraton hotel? i remember it as very nice from the early '80s. i would like to take the family there for may of 1998. thank you. lisa
