Anypne have any first hand experiences staying at the Bucuti Resort in Aruba? Planning a vacation there this winter. Any info appreciated.

Don't know about the hotel, but the beach is HUGE and AMAZING! If you can, stay at the Marriott and go to that particular beach during the day!

Karen, I haven't been myself. However, after many hours of on-line research we had narrowed our choice down to Bucuti on Aruba and Bougainvillea on Barbados. Settled on Barbados as getting there is easier, but still intend to go to Bucuti next year. You might want to check out www.caribbeanopinion.com for an excellent review of this hotel. There are also trip reports at www.aruba-bb.com. I didn't come across one bad word about Bucuti while doing my research (or Bougainvillea, for that matter). Have fun.

Linda, stayed at The Bougainvillea this past January and loved it. The property is beautiful. Make sure to take a snorkeling cruise on the Tiani. It was unbelievable swimming with the sea turtles. If you like more info, feel free to email me.

Karen, We were in Aruba just this past July and enjoyed our week there very much. We stayed at the Manchebo Beach resort which is next door to the Bucuti. I had a chance to get a good look at this resort when we went over to their restaurant, the Pirate's Nest for lunch. It is a lovely resort done in a Mediterranean style and sits on a gorgeous, huge, white, sandy beach! The guests there seem to be well pampered--- the hotel staff gives each guest a red flag to use on the beach--- whenever you are thirsty or hungry, just stick the flag in the sand and a waiter will come to take your order! No need to even move! The Pirate's Nest restaurant is designed to look like a beached galleon ship--- serves breakfast, lunch and dinner ala carte and no buffets except for theme nights. The food is good--- I had coconut shrimp and hubby had garlic shrimp for lunch---very good. At night, the restaurant looks very romantic when it is lit up for the evening--- you can dine inside or outside on the deck.
