After much deliberation.....the winner is....
Negril. My wife and I were looking for a place to go in November using our Continental FF miles from Seattle. I was hell bent on Tobago for our 10 day trip, but after much research....we decided that we were more comfortable going somewhere we both love and are guaranteed to have a nice trip. I placed our deposit today at Coco La Palm and we are set! We plan on bringing the two year old....for his 3rd trip to Negril counting the one he had in the belly. We had to cancel our trip last May....so we are definitely overdue and definitely excited!!!

CaribbeanSoul, (and Mrs CaribbeanSoul and Son)
Whilst we don't normally revisit resorts (too many other places to visit) I think you've probably made the right decision. Sometimes it's nice not to worry about a vacation, especially with a small child - you know what you're getting into and that's priceless. We stayed Idle Awhile in May and that stretch of the beach is the best. Good move! have a wondeful time - are you counting the days? |
Have fun and I'm sure the little one will enjoy the water.Sounds like this trip is long past due.:)

Cool CS. I did not know you are in Seattle. We will be there for our cruise in August and will spend three days afterward. :-)
|
Enjoy your cruise, JW! You should have very nice weather in August. I presume you'll be going on an Alaskan cruise? If you need any suggestions for your 3 days in Seattle, let me know.
|
Alya: Yes....definitely counting the days! We return from our trip on Thanksgiving Day and back to Seattle in time for a late dinner....should be a lot of fun. Coco La Palm really goes all out with their Christmas lights and they have a ceremonial lighting the night before Thanksgiving. We have only seen pictures.
Christie: Thanks! I'll be sure to post a detailed trip report upon return titled Traveling With a 2 Year Old to Negril (Times are a Changin'). He should find the big beach and calm waters much to his liking. He is becoming a parrot reciting words as best as he can at the moment. He should be a real piece of work by November. :) |
CS: Sir I would appreciate any and all suggestions. Yes,it is an Alaskan cruise. Have you ever been on one? If so what do you suggest inre shore excursions.
|
I hope for your sake..that he does not pick up any bad words or you will be embarassed as I was when my 2 yr old heard the word sh_t and repeated it in public.LOL I was so embarassed...but gave no reaction as usually if you ignore it..they will forget it.;)

CaribbeanSoul, Please post a trip report when you return. I am taking my family of 10 to CocoLaPalm at Christmas. I'd really appreciate reading about your trip and any tips you might have. Thanks, Owa

JW: I have not been on an Alaskan cruise, or any kind of cruise for that matter. Depending on your route, if you can find your way to Desolation Sound along the inner passage¡K..it is amazing! Water so warm in the summer that you can swim in it, believe it or not. Where are you staying in Seattle? I can recommend some good restaurants and ¡§touristy¡¨ things to do here. I have lived here for 10 years and I still feel like a tourist. ƒº
Owa: I¡¦ll most definitely post a trip report upon my return. |

We are leaving for Negril July 10th-16th. Staying at CocoLaPalm. I will post when I return. I have not heard anything bad about the hotel ever. Thanks to CaribbeanSoul who back in early May helped me with some details for my trip. Made the planning much easier. |
Awwww, brenandg, I am **blushing**. I am only happy to be of some help in planning your trip to Negril. May it rank up there with the best! Here is a toast to clear skies and calm seas!

CS. Any restaurant recs would be appreciated. Is there an Indian restaurant by chance as my wife is Indian. We haven't determined a hotel yet but we do want to be in the downtown area. What about the Sixth st. inn? Are you familiar with it?
|
JW: Email me at [email protected] and I can give you some feedback personally instead of using the forum. I look forward to hearing from you!
