>>>>>>if not able to do the rockies, banff etc.is it worthwile coming from east coast usa to vacouver /whistler<<<<<<
In my opinion, yes. >>>>>>how many days in each and what else would you add?<<<<<< Well I guess it depends what your family's interests are. If it was my family, I would do 4 nights in the Tofino / Ucluelet area on the west coast of Vancouver Island, with the remaining nights split evenly between Whistler and Vancouver. |
if you or the kids are into mountain biking, glacier skiing or hiking then i would suggest going to whistler 2 days maximum. tourist area grossly overpriced. personally i would spend time in vancouver island. ferry from horseshoe bay to nanaimo and visit the towns on the coast road to victoria, chemainis, duncan etc. stunning and you get a great flavour of bc and from a first nation perspective

I totally agree with Judy

If you end up going to Whistler there is a vacation property called Horstman House which is great for families, we stay there all the time summer and winter with our 3 kids. They have full kitchens, in-suit laundry, pool, games room, short walk to lost lake and is infront of whistlers shuttle bus stop.
