Granville Island is most ideal during daylight hours in the morning or early afternoon.

"Granville" (street) is perhaps at its optimum between midnight and two a.m. on what would be Saturday or Sunday mornings.

(and I wholeheartedly endorse the people watching to be done on Granville street long after darkness falls)
