Lynn, that's great. It's really looking like August will be the best time. We haven't had any objections to it .

Is there anyone interested that does have a problem with any time in August?

moolyn Feb 1st, 2008 02:38 PM

The Toronto GTG contact list has 20 names on it aleady. If you want to be on the list, please contact me: [email protected]

kodi Feb 1st, 2008 04:47 PM

WE are going to have a vote for a date in August.
So if you are interested in the GTg at all, please email moolyn.
She will be sending out an email for the vote.

Hopefully doing it this early , we can come up with a date that is good for everyone.

AUG 9.. just a reminder. Maybe I'm thinking of warmer days, since it's snowing again!

ctoner Mar 25th, 2008 03:37 PM

I hear you Kodi! Snowing again....bleck...Oh well, we can look forward to seeing everyone who can make it at the Toronto GTG! Thanks to you and Moolyn for organizing all of this. I've got August 9th on the calendar. Can you confirm a place and time? Thanks a bunch! ctoner

kodi Mar 26th, 2008 05:10 PM

Hi ctoner. It will be at the Hot HOuse Cafe, which is at Front St and Church. We had it there last year and it was a real success.
Time to be arranged, but probably 6ish..

goddesstogo Mar 26th, 2008 05:12 PM

Today was pretty gorgeous here, for a change.

Yay for the GTG! Can't wait!

August 9 sounds like a wonderful date to meet.

I have just returned from our 16 day trip to France and Spain with 36 high school students. When we were in Valencia I met up with Lincasanova who had offered wonderful suggestions for our time there. She graciously drove me and two students around Valencia to see some of the more outstanding Fallas. We had a nice cup of tea/coffee in a little cafe. She came back to our hotel to meet all the students before leaving to return to her regular routine.

kodi Mar 27th, 2008 12:12 AM

Teacher, how wonderful!!
Funny, I know a young lady who just returned from France and Spain on a high school trip. But I think her's was a 10 day trip.

Let's hope this weather keeps getting better. I refuse to wear my parka anymore.

I just participated in a GTG in Paris -- 8 Fodorites/ companions met up for dinner at the Bistrot du Peintre, near Bastille, on Easter Monday.

It was great.I am not boisterous in restaurants and hate those who are, esp tourist. But we were so animated -- in an already animated bistro setting -- that someone (I was facing away and didn't see who) apparently asked our table to pipe down a bit!

Everyone that evg had had such different lives and some of the participants had quite exotic tales to tell.

So I am looking fwd to the August GTG in Toronto.

ctoner Mar 27th, 2008 05:29 AM

Thanks Kodi! This will be my first GTG. Looking forward to meeting everyone....the Hot House Cafe it is! See everyone then!

Anselm A, I really cherish the Fodor's thread you sent me and have it in my travel book ready to go!

Mathieu Mar 27th, 2008 01:20 PM

Tedgale : The Paris GTG sounds fun and interesting. Do you know if there are plans to write a report about it ? I'm sure it would make for some great reading. Please alert us to the thread should there be one.

Thx.

Mathieu Mar 27th, 2008 01:38 PM

No need Ted, I just saw the thread.
