Whatever is best for you I can make work for me...but please don't put off important plans..I'll be back in town later this year.
|
I can do lunch on Saturday. I'm going to the opera on Sunday afternoon, so I could either do lunch before (if we started early -- brunch maybe?) or dinner afterward.
Unfortunately, Friday and Saturday night are booked. Don't change your plans, though, if those are best for everyone else. |
I can do lunch on Saturday, too, if that is where this is headed?
|
I can do lunch on Saturday as well.
|
OK, if we're aiming for Saturday lunch, so far it's:
Dukey Goddesstogo LJ SallyCanuck (possibly) What about you, kodi? And Kodi, what do you think about moolyn and the others who were at the last Toronto GTG? |
Another source of Toronto info (particularly for restaurants) is Toronto Life magazine, online at http://www.torontolife.com/
The Canadian International Autoshow is on... |
I'm working on it. I have to shuffle something in order to be available for lunch Sat. I don't think it will be a problem, so count me in for that time.
Goddess, I'll email Moolyn. |
Oh and LJ, I'm so glad you chimmed in!
|
ok, I'm free for lunch on Sat.
Goddess, I emailed moolyn. |
Yippee, it might be lunch on Saturday Feb 16!
Does that still work for you, Dukey? You're going to be the guest of honour, y'know! What do you want to eat? |
Thanks for thinking of me but I'll be away all that weekend. I'm sorry to miss a mini GTG but I'll be with my granchildren! Have fun!
|
Saturday the 16th definitely works for me. I'm not real picky about food..not much into sushi, tho, and don;t really want to be the "guest of honor" LOL but just another of several very wonderful people...you pick the place and time and I'll be there.
|
So, everybody? Restaurant suggestions?
|
I can do lunch on the 16th so count me in.
Dukey is staying at EC Marriott so something in that area? Marriott have a restaurant and a bar but it's also close to lots of places including Chinatown, Bloor/Yonge, which makes me think of the Bloor Diner? |
Absolutely NOT....YOU pick the place based on what you think is GOOD...I can get myself anywhere..doesn't have to be near the Marriott at all
|
Sally,
Funny that you should mention the Bloor Street Diner. I go there often because of the movie theatre upstairs but as of last week, it's off my list. First of all, the friend I was with told me she'd seen a mouse last time she was there. Then at our dinner that night the table was dirty (after we'd been seated) and we had to ask to have it cleaned, my friend's napkin -- a paper one that should have just come out of the package -- had lipstick on it, and my smoked salmon, cheese and onion omelet had no smoked salmon in it. I don't mean not enough. I mean none. Zero. Zip. They just forgot to put it in at all! Here are some suggestions for lunch and I'd be happy to hear others. These are just moderately-priced places and I've just suggested some of them to kelliebellie on another thread. In the Market area, there's the Hot House Cafe(for variety), Le Papillion (for Bretonne-style crepes and a fireplace), SpringRolls (for pan-Asian). There's also a SpringRolls in the Atrium on Bay, right next to the Marriott. Also in the Atrium, is the Pickle Barrel (variety). In the Eaton Centre itself, there's the City Grill and Baton Rouge. So there's some. Any other suggestions? Dukey, you've been here before, haven't you? Did you eat any place you particularly liked? |
Hot House Cafe is fine with me - any of them are.
Last time a group of us went to the Bloor Diner there was a live fly in my friend's salad - I forgot that when I suggested it. They seemed not to care too much either. |
yes, I've been before and we ate at a couple of places in Yorkville but I cannot remember the names.
The place(s) you've suggested sound(s) great (the one without the mouse!)..but I'm flexible..VERY flexible |
Too bad that place has gone downhill so badly. It was really convenient.
What about you others? Any suggestions? Any preferences? If I have a place name and a number of people, I'll make a reservation somewhere. |
Being from out of town, I'm not familiar with most of them.
Pan-Asian would be my very last choice though. But I'm good with anything. You Torontonians decide. All the ones suggested sound good. |
