The Countdown Begins
Eighteen days and I’m outta here
I’m gonna have myself a Canadian beer! |
((B))
=D> |
Yahoo!! And I hope a butter tart!!
|
...and a beaver tail and a Harveys veggie burger and French pastries and crepes and...
It's getting so close - I don't know if I can make it through another 2 weeks of work. |
....and some Smarties!
Why does work always get in the way of our travels? Oh yea, they pay for the trips! |
Oooh yes, thanks for reminding me. I've heard those Smarties are good stuff!!
|
Seventeen days soon enough
Til I’m safe in Ottawa, ain’t no guff! |
Oh, I love Ottawa!
If you wander down Elgin Street, a couple of blocks down, on the right hand side, there is a magazine store that has the greatest section of travel magazines that I've ever seen. I always come home with a pile of new magazines... some from Britain and other parts of the world. |
I've been to that store. It's amazing what they have. Ottawa is one of my favorite cities - it's so calm and relaxed.
|
...and don't forget crepes with the mini-GTGers!
|
Since we're "mini" GTGers, does that mean we get to pig out on crepes??? :-d
I am so looking forward to getting together with you all!! |
Sixteen days and then I’ll be
Making some Canadian history! |
Do you mean our GTG will go down in history??? Wow!!
No wait, maybe you mean something else!!! What exciting things do you have planned up there in Ottawa??? |
I thought that after you all meet me, you'll make August 27th a national holiday!! :-D
|
Now there is a geat idea!! National Toadtoes Day.
Years from now little kids will be wondering why it's called that! |
Hey, if Tim Horton can become a saint, then I think it's only fair I become a national holiday. :-d
|
Absolutely! And the same little kids probably don't know that Tim Horton was a hockey player. They probably think he invented coffee or something.
|
I knew he didn't invent coffee, but he did invent the donut, right?
|
Fifteen days and you’ll know why
Canada is my idea of paradise! (OK, you really won't know until I get home, but it rhymed...) |
Well, as hard as I try , I can't think of anything to rhyme. I'm not much of a poet.
So I'll just have to say in 15 days, Canada will shine a little brighter. |
Fourteen days and I’ll be away
In the Canadian sun, I’m gonna play! |
Thirteen days and I’ll be gone
I’m gonna hear some Canadian songs! |
Just thirteen days until she's here
And we'll all get drunk on Canadian beer! |
13 days before you try a Coffee Crisp,
going thru the border we hope you're not frisked! Enjoy-la! |
Canadians are so clever!! :-d
|
Only 12 days, so sit and have a coke,
You'll soon be up here listening to folk. |
=D> =D> =D> =D>
Of course, I'm on Pacific time. I still have 2 hours and 7 minutes before I can say 12 days... :( |
Twelve more days and off I go
Gonna spend my time in Toronto oh! |
Only 12 more days until you zoom,
Go and see the Unknown Soldier's Tomb. Enjoy-la! |
I think the poets are starting to come out of the woodwork!!
Yes, I will be visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. :) |
Eleven days don’t you know
Less than two weeks and off I go! |
Don't forget to have some...
Kitkats, Coffee Crisp, Ketchup chips, Dr. Pepper...that's all I got for now... |
So much to eat, so little time!!!!!
I think I have to try and send home a snack package the day before I leave Canada. :-D |
Ten more days I just can’t wait
Maybe I’ll find myself a mate! |
10 more days until the CN Tower,
Follow it with a Niagara shower! Enjoy-la! |
Nine more days, yes it’s true
I’ll be in Canada, no time to be blue! |
Eight days left till Niagara Falls
Perhaps those wedding bells will call! |
Seven days left just one week
This ain’t no time to start getting weak! |
Miseed some fun - been busy packing,
Back as a poet, I'll get crackin': 7 days to the Hockey Hall of Fame, It covers Canada's national game! C:) Enjoy-la! |
The days left only number six,
Just in time for a holiday fix! |
