We thought five nights in Montréal and four nights in Québec City were perfect. We took a day trip from Québec City to Chute Montmorency (a beautiful waterfall) and Sanctuaire de Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré (Chapter Eleven of the trip report ... link below). Also, try and get advance tickets to AURA, a light and music show that takes place in the evenings at Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal. Spectacular! Have fun.

Sue_xx_yy: Thank you for that link re: reopening of borders. We have moved our trip to October hoping that the entry requirements For the Atlantic provinces will also loosen when the US-Canada border reopens. We eagerly await the PM’s announcement so we can purchase tickets! We have already booked lodgings that are cancellable 48 hrs before arrival.
We haven’t booked but as of today, the drop off charge for the rental is about $300 CAD, split between two couples is not too bad. Besides, driving back to Halifax is just not practical. |
Quarantine plan
Hello all, we have cancellable accommodations for this trip. We just need to purchase airfare but the required quarantine plan remains unclear to us so we are hesitant to forge ahead. We don’t know what we need to show to the border agents. Do we simply show that we have a hotel reservation for 14 days in Montreal, or is there an official form we need to fill out?
Thank you! https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/isolation/quarantine-start#:~:text=Before%20travelling%20to,No |
I believe you have to enter in all your quarantine plans, including proof of vaccination, into this app/website atleast 72 hours prior to your arrival.
, After filling it out, I believe this is all you need to show border agents. After arrival, you also need to log in every day and complete a self-assessment for Covid symptoms. Don't quote me on this, though, I've never had to do it. |
