July in Vancouver Island
My husband and I have 1 week in Vancouver mid July. What is your ideal itinerary?
We like to be active. Also, included any suggestions for accommodations. Thanks. M |
First suggestion is to get out a map so you can see that Vancouver is not on Vancouver Island. The city has a spectacular setting around a major harbour so you can do plenty of walking along the English Bay beaches and through Stanley Park. The anthropology museum at the University of British Columbia is fascinating if you are interested in First Nations culture. Granville Island, just off downtown, shelters artistan workshops and a tantalizing farm and seafood market, with a nice brewpub. http://granvilleisland.com/ |
Thank you. Any suggestions after we explore Tofino for a couple of days? Where else would you suggest exploring?

I lived in Vancouver for 4 months and one of my favorite things is to climb the Grouse Grind....up Grouse mountain, just underneath the tram up the mountain. Hard as hell but a lot of fun. Also, walk the complete circle around Stanley Park.

Meant to add that Tofino is one of our favorite places. Stayed at the Chesterman B&B. Loved the fire on the beach every night.

thanks much. M
