hotel closed for renovations!
 

I'd booked into a Toronto hotel for New Years eve. Got a call today that they'll be closed for renovations. They offered to move me to another hotel (nicer one) at same price. Only problem was I was using a gift cert. for the original hotel so wasn't out cash.<BR>Now I'll have to pay cash for the new hotel.<BR>Would I be reasonable to expect anything frmo the hotel becasue of this? A free night? anything? or just let it drop.

Did you by any chance discuss this with the hotel staff who called you?

No I got a message on my machine and haven't called back.

Which hotel is it?

If both hotels are owned by the same corporation, it would not be unreasonable to ask that your gift certificate be made transferrable to the other hotel.
