Cheap Eats in Kelowna???
 

We will be "treating" 4 friends in Kelowna. We'll be staying at a condo. Is there a good Chinese delivery place or another good take out place that we can use? I assume that would be the cheapest route? Any other suggestions?

Kelowna has more fast-food places in a more concentrated area (along the highway) than any other place I have ever seen bar none!

You won't have any trouble, but if you are really intent on ordering in, the Mekong should be able to help.

If you go to any supermarket along the strip, you should be able to pick up any kind of food you want for an at-home picnic.

Hi, There is a Costco on the corner of Hwy 33 and HWY 97 also the save on foods near Orchard park mall is pretty good. The Farmers market on the corner of benvoulin and springfield on wed and sat has great stuff. The Save on foods off lakeshore drive is being renovated and very dissapointing. The Sunshine market on lakeshore is great if you are down that way and need to pick up things

The Mekong has great Chinese food. You can do take out, or eat in, as the restaurant is quite nice.
Another one of our faves for Indian food is Samosas or Da Tandoor. Both are downtown and in the entertainment book as well.

For Mexican try Hector's Casa on Lakeshore.

We'll be there one week..touring wineries etc. Is the Entertainment book worthwhile? Does it have any "winery stuff"?? Any place you can get a discounted book? Thanks!

Not sure if you can still get a 2008 book, but if you can it should be cheap, as it has almost expired.

No winery stuff, but lots of golf in it.

Anything else we shouldn't miss? We've got an extensive list of wineries to visit and are hoping to take in the Kettle Valley Steam Train. Any other recommendations? What can we expect of the weather in mid Sept? Sept 13-20 to be exact.

Kelowna Land & Orchard does a great apple orchard tour - with a fresh apple juice tasting after the tour and the opportunity to stay for a (not too badly priced) BBQ lunch. Here's a link:

The trestles at Myra Canyon have reopened this year. They were burned out in the fire, and have now all been rebuilt.

Daytime temps this week is about 20C. Evening cool off, so layers are what you need now.

The Dragonboat festival is Sept 13-14 so there will be lots of activity at Waterfront Park.
