Get that excitement back, hdm! You are going a week before me so I will need for you to have tried everything so you can file a wonderful trip report...as in are the milkshakes at Peter Pan as wonderful as we hoped?

The Great George Inn is very nice and in a perfect Ch'Town location. My niece is the massage therapist there!

Faithie,
Well, depending on the response from the Delta, the Great George is next on my list. It gets excellent reviews. If the Delta honours the Entertainment book that weekend, though, the prices are very low.

Hi, The Peter Pan is not an 'eat in' restaurant and does not have car service. You go in and order and get your food. There is a large parking lot but also some picnic tables on their grassy area. If they still serve the deep dish apple pie with ice cream - yum!

The Inns on Great George St. are very near the hotel and very popular - I'd stay there before the Delta if I had the choice. Very historic yet quite luxurious.

Thanks, Lucy. I will check it out. Have fun, hdm...don't forget to post your trip report. I will be looking for it!

cmcfong, just to clarify, the Peter Pan is not really a 'must go' destination; for me it's nostalgic and still makes great homemade fast food. You might find yourself there wondering 'what in the world was she thinking?' But if you're nearby go, just don't make it a special trip.

Do make a special trip to The Merchantman across from the Delta Hotel; very Maritime and fun. Other good spots would be the Gahan House, the Pilot House and the Dundee. Enjoy your trip.

As it turns out, the Delta is giving us a very good rate -- not quite as low as the one they quoted when I gave them the wrong dates, but quite a bit lower than rates on expedia and elsewhere. Also lower, I think, than the George.

Woo hoo! Now I just have to make plane reservations!

Lucy, thanks. I am a bit of a milkshake hound so I might track it down. We are staying at the Dalvay by the Sea and I understand the food there is quite good. I am looking forward to my visit!

Dalvay is beautiful, I grew up on Brackley Beach which is just up the road a bit, we'd leave the beach and head to Peter Pan for our "treats".... We're there for the 1st week of August. Have a great trip!
