When to go?
 

My husband and I are planning to spend 30 days in Australia and New Zealand. We would like to know the best time to go. We can choose May or October.When to go? We are brazilians and any suggestios will be welcome.

May is winter in both countries and really not good tourist weather with the exception of the far north of Australia. <BR> October is the start of spring with cool weather and the possibility of rain. You could start your holiday in Queensland or Northern Territory before the start of their wet season and continue your travels south and then onto New Zealand.

We were in N.Z. several years ago in mid-October and they were having an enormous problem with snow storms on the South Island. If you choose that month it might be wise to go as late in the month as possible.

So much depends on which parts of Australia you want to go to. The wet season in northern Australia goes from November to March and can be very wet, very humid with the possibility of cyclones. On the other hand, November to March are ideal times to visit the southern part of Australia (from Sydney down) and New Zealand. October isn't bad in both places as long as you are prepared to get some rain. <BR>
