I second it. Wanted to express my sympathy, but not sure the appropriate place. If any Aussies are reading this, I'm thinking of you and all the others who died and were directly affected.

What is this world coming too? Why is there so much hate out there?

But you want to know something, it is NEVER going to stop me from travelling.

abc Oct 27th, 2002 12:49 PM

I ran across the following today:

"In a videotape purportedly showing al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, the British Broadcasting Corp. said Saturday that bin Laden singles out Australia as an enemy of Islam, because Australia helped East Timor gain independence from Indonesia."

I just wanted to say that I admired Australia's position on East Timor. You took the lead in stopping the terror in East Timor. I imagine it would have been easy to turn a blind eye to the situation, but you didn't.

After the horror of Bali, you might be questioning whether if you should have got involved. Just be reassured that protecting the underprivileged is always the right thing to do. Bravo Australia!!!
