Sorry all, just spotted this!

Mini gtg is arranged for Tuesday October 22. We are going to meet at the MCA, Museum of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay at 1pm.

ALL welcome, it would be lovely to meet as many of the Australian contributors as possible.

Um .... Tuesday is the 21st

If it's 22nd, we won't be peering at the floating block of flats - but that's Wednesday.

I am toying with the idea of taking a cruise from the US to Sydney that arrives October 10. Once I book that, there is no turning back. I have to see how far my budget (what a concept) will take me. My head is spinning.

ahotpoet, I see you are in Florida. Wonder where? We are in the Ft Lauderdale area.

rncheryl, sadly, no. But I was there last New Year's Eve and had a wonderful lunch at the MCA and a mini-GTG. Great view, good food, and better company.

Okay, so lunch at the MCA on Tuesday.
What would you envisage that entails ?
Ending at say 4.00 pm or thereabouts ? Or do these GTGs last a bit longer ?

Tiger air has a $24 special offer each way on Tuesday/Wednesdays in October... I might just be able to make it, 1.5 hr from the Gold Coast, arrive at 11.30, fly home at 18.30.

I think people will stay as long as they can ... but 4pm would probably be stumps.

And it's footsteps to Circular Quay for a train for you coming & going from the airport.

I don't have to be anywhere after. Does somebody want to go for a walkabout after? BTW Can anybody suggest a good clean central safe budget (approx $100 night)place to stay? I arrive in Sydney on October 10.

ahotpoet, Try this instead of a budget hotel. It's a really great youth hostel in a fantastic location. Ensuite rooms are available.

Mmmmm very tempting - everyone has cheap fares that day and I will have a couple of TOIL days due as I will be working the full weekend before that.
