Franz Joseph Helihike with 8 year old
 
Has anyone done the Franz Joseph helihike please? Which tour operator did you use and what was it like? Is it suitable for an 8 year old? We are planning to go in December. Thanks.

I did the Fox Glacier heli-hike with my 7-year old daughter, and she had a great time. We went with Alpine Guides (http://www.foxguides.co.nz/helihike.htm), and it worked out fine.

When you get up high, these two glaciers merge, so it is no big deal as to which glacier you choose.

We did the Fox Glacier helihike and I'm pretty sure there were a few kids around 7-8. They separated the &quot;families&quot; from the rest of the group once we got onto the glacier. As long as she is steady on her feet she should be OK.
