Last weekends travel supplement in The Australian Newspaper commenced its hotel / travel awards for 2008 .

I have kept it and shall do the same for the next few weeks and then update this for post for everyone .

Susan Kurosawa , the editor , is also going to give her own award for the place she thinks best .She is a very good crtic and reliable reviewer so I am most interested in her conclusions .

The December / January edition of Australian Gourmet Traveller arrived today and it also has some useful snippets as well eg highly recommends the refurbished Kirketon and the Diamant .

For anyone going to Canberra I recently stayed at the Diamant ( sister hotel to the Kirketon and Diamant Hotels in Sydney )and it was very good .It has received justifiably good reviews .
