While there have been some sensationalistic articles in the world press (one of the worst I read was from the Washington Post, intimating that Thailand was about to degenerate into civil war), there are lots of reliable reports of what is happening in Thailand. The New York Times, and the BBC are both good sources. There are two English language papers in bangkok, the Bangkok Post and the Nation. Both are available online. From my perspective the most recent development of a new coalition government that does not include Taksin's cronies is good news, indeed. |

I went to Bangkok last weekned...we had a stop there on the way home from KL. It seemed pretty quiet in Bangkok so I would not hesitate to go.
