Now we've come to the part of the report where I can provide some oversight.

For instance, he managed to skip the part of the Le Bouchon meeting in which he was an hour and ten minutes late. While one would expect that he might treat me this way, he made Beth wait as well.

i expect my attorney to be able to read carefully....please re-read the section about the arrival at the restaurant....on second thought maybe i will send my 7 year old grandchild over to read it to you...he remembers what he reads...i guess maybe there was an ambulance driving by when you were reading this and you got very excited....more revenue??

As a result of Andy's and your reports, I have now removed two restaurants from my list for Bangkok in February - China House and Mahanaga. If you had to name your 3 Bangkok favorites (dinner only) on this last trip, what would they be? Note that I have already asked the Panda the same question so it will be interesting to see if your responses are similar.

Bob and K
Glad you enjoyed Platinum mall. I like it as well. But I wouldn't put it ahead of MBK on my list of great shopping haunts in BKK...

Have you ever been catty-corner from Platinum to the Pratunam Center mall? That's another MBK style place!

craig---we only had lunch there but shaz in the majestic grande hotel was a very nice setting and the food was very good...soi 2 sukhumvit, just down the soi past the jw marriott...

cy'an in the metropolitan...i liked it but not sure the others liked it as much as i did...

biscotti of course and for once it was not crazy busy...

harmonique continues to head our list...

i will elaborate more about china house next week....it might work for you but it was not at all good in my mind....the food was average i thought...the duck is now 1100B---that would feed four with additional dishes...see my report...

you might try the new hilton...

we had a res at the fri/sat nite seafood buffet at the conrad but had to cancel it....i will definately try it next time...

our two best meals were outside bkk...the fishing village south of jontiem beach and supatra at hua hin...

Happy Anniversary Bob and Karen!!

Really enjoying your trip report and so glad that you enjoyed the Pattaya Sheraton. When I suggested it to you I was not aware that you had FOS (fear of Sheratons) so I am glad you enjoyed:) It is a gorgeous hotel. Also glad you went to and enjoyed Casa Pascal.
Have fun and finish the report when you can.
Merry Christmas to you and your family
Pat

Wow, 40 years is very impressive. I choose to conclude that frequent worldwide travel is most beneficial to one's health and the health of one's relationship...

rhkkmk Dec 17th, 2006 06:09 PM

thank you all so much for the good wishes....all couples need them from day one on...

we met at school....have dated since juniors in high school---ok gpanda, yes it was needham high school, one of the best in the state....much better than any school in cambridge i might add...

quick weekend review...on wednesday or thursday this week i had to tell karen we would not be going to my oldest friends' christmas party...why? we were going away for the weekend and i would only tell her 'dressy for saturday nite and a brunch on sunday' and that the whole family was coming....period! i had planned this with our youngest daughter in september before we left on the trip..she was wild, she had tons of plans for the weekend...i told her she could stay home???

lunch in NH on saturday at youngest daughter's with in-laws---my beef barley, mushroom, veggie soup....check into marriott, of course, wentworth by the sea hotel in afternoon--one of the old new england 'grand old dame' wooden hotels...back to daughters in our fancy duds...limo to ogunquit maine with in-laws, both daughters and sons-in-law...dinner at the fabulous arrows restaurant--on-line--try it if in the area...limo back to hotel and drop off in-laws (mid-80's) and then limo to daughter's....hang out...nite at hotel...
family including 5 grandchildren arrive at hotel on sunday at 10AM for 'santa brunch'....tons of fun with santa, and the grands made us very happy with good manners and interesting conversation---oldest is 7 1/2...afternoon at daughter's...wonderful wonderful weekend..now we can do it all over again next weekend for christmas..

Kathie Dec 17th, 2006 06:22 PM
