Need more advice please
Hi guys,
I've decided on an Itinerary (more or less) and would appreciate your input. Transport from Saigon to Mekong Delta - would you recommend the Bus? After Ben Tre, Can Tho and Chau Doc, which boat would you recommend to Phnom Penh? Our Cambodia Visa application asks at which border crossing we'll enter Cambodia. ( I'm not sure) We can get a late-night flight from Siem Reap to Ho Chi Ming for $150 (if still available). Any other transport recommendations, boat trips or specific accommodations for Ben Tre, Can Tho and Chau Doc? Thanks again. |
Thinh Phat, Thao Chau, Minh Tam or Futa buslines Saigon to Ben Tre.
Sang bus (Around 8:30 am) or Hiep bus (Around 1:30 pm) Ben Tre bus station to Can Tho. Futa buslines Can Tho to Chau Doc. Hang Chau fast boat or Victoria speed boat Chau Doc to Phnom Penh. |
Hi DinHo
Thank you! |

Sorry but Vietnam Airlines is not an "excellent airline". I would describe it as average at best, so don't expect too much. It is fine for short haul within Vietnam but not a patch on Emirates that you seem to be using for your flight from South Africa. We used Vietnam Airways from London to Sydney last year when our flights via Japan were cancelled last minute because of the pandemic and were very disappointed even in Premium Economy (but then, the beauty or otherwise of the cabin staff has never been a key criteria for me!)

Thanks, Larsay! I appreciate your input.
