They had the sirens in place some time ago, today was a demostration to foreign diplomats to show that they have a very efficient system in place and that everyone knows the 'drill', just in case the impobable ever occurs, it actually makes it a very safe place, I think it is along the lines of what Hawaii has and certainly as far as I have read the first in the region. Following the tragedy I found a site and to my personal surprise I never realised that there are earthquakes all over the world everyday, in fact lots every day, that one a few weeks back looked major in force but did not cause severe problems so it shows how unique the one last year was.
