Drat lost yet another post.
Like Lori we are devastated about the sad events that unfolded just hours after we left PP. The Cambodian people are simply wonderful. Prayers to everyone.

So far we have dinner with Lori at touich restaurant which was a wonderful evening due to the amazing food and even more wonderful company (and the journey back in a jeep was fun too) thanks Lori for the inspirational conversation, fab to meet you.The hotel de la paix is delicious!!!!Toured the small circuit with pilu who despite a minor hiccup is wonderful you can find him at affinityangkor.com, we see him on Thursday for more temples and a floating Village. A tong in the making for sure!!!!

Today we checked out SR town, shopped. Drank and had the odd massage thrown in at Frangipani(thanks Lori) apsara dancing at the hotel (no not muffin) drinks at linga bar, dresses and t shirts a plenty purchased ( we are total tourists) we LOVE SR!!!!!!!

We had. 7 course Khmer dinner at merit last night A-mazing!!!!!!!
!
Don't flame me but we had burgers at the central cafe tonight (omg the best burgers I ever ate -and I don't even eat burgers!!!!!!)

Off to bed early tonight.love to all, safe journey tomorrow Lori.

THat should say meric I hate these apple keyboards!!!!

Craig Nov 24th, 2010 01:28 PM

Meric and HDLP - great combo. Glad to hear they are as good as they were when we were there almost 5 years ago. (Where does the time go?)

rhkkmk Nov 24th, 2010 04:21 PM

glad to hear directly from you

Smeagol Nov 24th, 2010 04:49 PM

Updates are thin as the connection is REALLY slow, but at least it keeps Andy from giving me a time penalty!!!!!

Think we may try the HDLP restaurant in town tonight, or maybe the Khmer place Lori suggested.

Craig this is hotel is simply wonderful, our room is amazing with a bath tub on the terrace!!!!!! (btw I got a GREAT rate on the SLH.com website which included an upgrade on arrival)

bookchick Nov 24th, 2010 05:44 PM

Freakin' A (to use a rude American expression), a tub on the terrace???!!! I'd love to be anywhere with a tub on the terrace! (Well, except my terrace, where it's threatening to snow any minute.)

oh to be a voyeur

Smeagol Nov 25th, 2010 12:20 AM

I haven't actually used it...yet!!!! It's very private and we have our own massage room too!!!!

Bob remind me I MUST tell you the story about Frangipani!!!!!

Just had another lovely day with Pilu, kampong phlock (sp?) floating forest and bang melea (sp?) BM was fab, and surprisingly free of tourists!! Got some great shots.

Off for a quick drink and look at the gallery at FCC. Then into town tonight for more cocktails and dinner.

Tomorrow is our last day in SR, infact Cambodia, we are both reluctant to leave, Cambodia and the Cambodian people are lovely. We both said www would like to return to SR and maybe do some other parts of Cambodia.

Hope you are all well.

lcuy Nov 26th, 2010 08:25 PM

I'll vote for that! Maybe Siem Reap, late October 2011?

offwego Nov 27th, 2010 05:28 PM

Bring on the GTG, I know a great place you can all stay... :)

What's the frangiapani story?

Smeagol Nov 27th, 2010 05:43 PM

Lori just an amusing aside I'll email you.
Good journey back? How wasHK?

Smeagol Nov 27th, 2010 06:49 PM

Btw frangipani was fantastic. Yet another recommendation for Siem Reap.

offwego Nov 27th, 2010 09:37 PM

yes good journey back. Scored the window seat in exit row next to an empty. Slept the whole way. Having fun in San Francisco right now brushing my teeth with tap water, taking bubble baths and eating all the cheese I can find. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
