Singapore hotel for one night layover

In September I have an 18 hour layover in Singapore. Any ideas for hotels that are convenient to good food since shopping is not high on my list . Thanks

Everywhere in Singapore is convenient to good food. If it was me, I'd want to go into the city. It's a short taxi ride or MRT (subway) ride between the city and the airport. Is there anything else you would like to do or see during your brief time in Singapore? If there is, I'd choose a hotel close to that attraction, as you can find good food everywhere in Singapore.

By the way, if you want hotel recommendations, you will need to give us a nightly budget.

If you're on a modest budget, as I am, or just don't like to pay more than you need to, I recommend The Inn at Temple Street, where I've stayed several times. Very helpful staff, great location and loads of restaurants right outside the door, mostly Chinese but other options nearby. Here's their website but you can also book on all the main booking sites:

I was definitely thinking of going and staying in the city. Looking at a budget for $200 -$250 USD.
