Silver Shops in Bangkok

I'm hearing that there may be another street in Bangkok where there are a lot of silver shops in addition to the street behind the Oriental Hotel. Can anyone confirm that the silver shops behind the Oriental hotel are still there and if true where is this other street of silver shops?

Hi

It's Chareon Krung Road , you also can look at Khao San Road its start from Wat Chanasongkran (temple) towards the Burger King,

OK so far the answer is no- not another street, We have shopped the streets mentioned above but had heard that there was another street of shops elsewhere.

bill, I'm sure there are plenty of places to buy silver arounf town, but this area remains the center of the silver wholesale market... remember gold is the thai preference.

What is a "lim" shop?

rhkkmk Sep 20th, 2012 07:18 PM

lim is the name of one family who own several high end silver shops in the area... i would classify most of the other wholesale shops as of a lesser quality.

It is LIN silver not lim. They are on the way into the Oriental. Sorry no help to your orginal question. I just googled silver+BKK and china town came up. Maybe some one knows more about that area.
